The NC1001 IC is a monolithic CMOS area image sensor with on-chip analog-to-digital converters and microprocessor interface. The device constitutes the heart of a digital camera using sensors, analog signal conditioning circuits and memory elements on-chip. It's designed to operate in direct connection with a microprocessor bus, eliminating the need for frame grabbers. The 256 x 256-pixel resolution, square-pixel, non-interlaced operation is backed by a single-line digital memory for synchronization with the processor clock. Acquisition rate is up to 30 frames per second. The device comes in a 44-pin LCC package.
