MCU Support IC Draws Very Low Power

The 2.7V ZPSD6XXV, an MCU peripheral IC, is an extremely low-power means of adding logic or program storage to MCU-based designs. The chip carries a 2500-gate CPLD, 128 kbytes of EPROM, 512 bytes of SRAM, extra I/O, and a programmable interface to most 8- or 16-bit MCUs. In a system operating at 1 MHz, the device consumes just 0.76 mA, including I/O loading. That's 97% less than the 25.1 mA consumed by a 3V implementation that includes the same memory and logic densities and I/O facilities. In standby, the chip draws a miniscule 1 µA.
