Securing Low-Cost Memory

The CryptoMemory family delivers secure EEPROM with a 1.5-MHz two-wire interface. The family features 1- to 256-kbit memory sizes. It communicates using an authenticated protocol and is implemented via tamper-resistant circuits. The chips come in eight-lead SOIC, PDIP, or LAP, as well as in card module form. They are compatible with other Atmel serial EEPROM products. Prices range from $0.30 to $0.85.
