CES 2011 – Raising the bar for connected media players, Blu-ray players and IPTV set-top box SoCs, the SMP8910 media processor is the first chip to integrate VXP studio quality video processing and flexible 3D video processing. It delivers more than 6,000 DMIPS via a dual-core 1004K MIPS CPU and a unique distributed processing architecture features task-optimized CPU that manage processes including HD multi-format video decoding, 3D graphics rendering, content protection and security management, and multi-format audio encoding and decoding. This architecture leaves more than 3,000 DMIPS of available processing to run middleware, set-top box applications, and the latest over-the-top applications. Samples will be available in the first half of 2011. SIGMA DESIGNS INC., Milpitas, CA. (408) 262-9003.
