Designed for electronic imaging applications that employ charge coupled devices (CCDs) as their photodetector, the ADCDS-1403 is an application-specific video signal processor with 14-bit resolution. The device incorporates a user configurable input amplifier, a correlated double sampler (CDS) and a sampling A/D converter in a single package. The key performance feature is a high-speed, high accuracy CDS circuit, which eliminates the effects of residual charge, charge injection and kT/C noise on the CCD's output floating capacitor to deliver a valid video output signal to the sampling A/D converter. Additional features include a user-configurable input amplifier, programmable analog input bandwidth, gain of offset adjustments, Out-of-Range indicator, internal timing circuits and a precision reference circuit. The device consumes 500 mW from ±5V and 12V supplies. Housed in a 40-pin TDIP, pricing for the device is $192 each/100.
