From the company’s security products portfolio, the OV10630 system-on-a-chip sensor delivers 720p HD video in a 1/2.7-inch optical format. Employing the company’s proprietary HDR processing technology, the sensor exhibits a 110-dB dynamic range in black-and-white and 100 dB+ in color. It is based on a 4.2-micron OmniPixel3-HS pixel, enabling 720p HD at, reportedly, unparalleled low-light sensitivity. The OV10630 has an active array of 1280 x 800 pixels, providing 720p HD video at 30 fps. It supports a digital video parallel port and provides a full-framed or windowed 10-bit or eight-bit YUV and 18-bit RAW RGB output format with complete user control over formatting and output data transfer. Other features include automatic exposure control, automatic white balance, automatic black level calibration, defective pixel correction, gamma correction, and lens shading correction. Camera functions are programmable through the serial camera control bus interface. The OV10630 is now sampling with mass production sliding in by the fourth quarter.
