The UAC3552A is a programmable USB D/A converter that supports different data rates and audio formats and, in addition to carrying out the DAC function, also performs the baseband processing of the audio signals. This powerful, universal audio back-end chip can be used in active loudspeakers, headphones, or interfaces in consumer electronics. It supports USB specifications 1.0 and 1.1 and offers the high data transfer rate of 12 Mbps as defined in the USB protocol. The IC processes 8-, 16-, and 24-bit audio data in mono or stereo. The D/A converted signals are available in CD quality with 96 dB SNR and 0.01% harmonic distortion via two outputs.
