The MAX7450, MAX7451, and MAX7452 front-end, standard-definition video signal conditioners restore dc levels within ac-coupled inputs, correct for amplitude variations up to ±6 dB, detect fault conditions, and filter out-of-band noise. They also compensate for cable loss or initial amplitude variations from assorted video sources. Operating from ±5V and ±3V supplies, respectively, the MAX7450 and MAX7451 set the output blanking level of the video signal to ground via a back-porch clamp approach. The MAX7452 operates from a single +5V supply and features a user-adjustable back- porch clamp level ranging from 1V to 1.5V. Each device integrates an input video clamp, AGC, loss-of-sync detector, and an out-of-band, low-pass filter with a cutoff frequency of 10 MHz. Other shared features include an external pin that adjusts the output buffer gain between +6 dB to 0 dB to drive a 150? load with a 2 or 1 Vp-p signal and an AGC disable function. Prices start at $1.49 each/1,000. MAXIM INTEGRATED PRODUCTS, Sunnyvale, CA. (800) 998-8800.
