Poised for the North American portable-product market, the LQ022B8UD04 QCIF+ Advanced TFT LCD provides a screen size of 2.2" in a module that measures 42.1 mm x 56.6 mm x 4.2 mm. In addition to QCIF+, the component is capable of displaying QVGA and VGA resolutions and supports full-motion color. To reduce power consumption, the module is backlit with white LEDs and can be used in different modes to reduce color, reduce refresh rate, or to write to only part of the screen. Power consumption is less than 300 mW at full brightness. Other features include a dot format of 176 x RGB x 220, dot pitch of 0.066 x 0.198, active area of 34.848 x 43.56, contrast ratio of 60:1, response rate of 18 ms, and support for 262,144 colors. The display is also available as part of a reference design for portable media players, an emerging category of portable handheld devices that can play audio and video on a single application.
