The STV108 family of 3-D video processors convert interlaced TV video streams to high-resolution, progressive-scan video up to wide-XGA resolution (1,280 x 768) at 60Hz. Suitable for TV tuner boxes, progressive-scan TV, LCD TV, HDTV, and many digital video displays, the devices integrate the company’s patented picture-in-picture (PIP) architecture and support the simultaneous display of computer graphics and TV video signals. The family includes: the STV108A 3-D video processor with integrated 10-bit d/a converter for progressive scan TV and HDTV; the STV108D 3-D video processor with 24-bit digital RGB output for LCD TV; and the STV106A mainstream video processor with integrated 10-bit d/a converter for TV tuner box applications. Each device supports analog RGB and YPbPr output and performs frame rate conversion to increase the output refresh rate up to 75 Hz progressive or 120 Hz interlaced. Other features include noise reduction, picture scan, and non-linear 16:9 output display. Prices start at $9.50 each/20,000 for the STV108A. SMARTASIC TECHNOLOGY INC., San Jose, CA. (408) 283-5098.
