60-W PoE Supply Eliminates Need For 110-/220 Vac

March 14, 2007
The TR60A Series Power-over-Ethernet power supply from PowerGate LLC delivers 48 Vdc at up to 1.2 A, plus data, through a single Ethernet cable.

With a rating of 60 W, the TR60A Series Power-over-Ethernet power supply eliminates the need to run 110-/220-Vac power to wireless access points and other devices over an Ethernet cable. This allows one Ethernet cable to carry both power and data so that remote access points can operate entirely from the power they receive through the data cable. The supply, which delivers 48 V at up to 1.2 A, is well-suited for applications such as wireless multi-radio access points with a, b, and g standards, and IP phones with streaming video displays.

The TR60A is an external, UL94V-0-rated desktop package that measures 5.91 by 2.76 by 1.36 in. It features a universal ac input, short-circuit protection, and a two-year warranty. The supply is rated for convection-cooled operation with a -20°C to 40°C full-load operating temperature range. The unit has been qualified to meet CISPR 22/EN55022 Class B emission standards, and is approved to the international safety standards of UL 60950-1, TUV EN60950-1, and CSA 22.2 No. 60950-1. It carries the CE mark (LVD) and is manufactured to satisfy the latest RoHS standards.
