Pooling their resources, Agilent Technologies and Dependable Computer Systems (DECOMSYS) have developed a measurement system that provides what is said to be the highest-level of FlexRay triggering and protocol decode measurements available in an oscilloscope. The system allows automotive designers using embedded microprocessors to verify signal integrity of FlexRay signals and the proper timing of the time-triggered communication bus. It teams an Agilent 6000 Series mixed-signal oscilloscope with a DECOMSYS BUSDOCTOR 2 protocol analyzer to provide time-correlated slot/segment boundary display of the global FlexRay timing schedule on the scope. Adding Agilent's FlexRay option for the 6000 series to the mix offers a set of FlexRay frame, slot, and error triggering, including the ability to trigger on specific FlexRay communications qualified on base-cycle and cycle-repetition. Users will be able to view a synchronous and time-correlated display of segment and slot-timing boundaries by importing a FIBEX file that defines the global FlexRay schedule directly into the scope. Of note, this capability allows the system to be used standalone with no external PC. Price for the N5432A FlexRay option is $2,500. The BUSDOCTOR 2 FlexRay protocol analyzer and optional oscilloscope communication cable can be ordered directly from DECOMSYS. AGILENT TECHNOLOGIES INC., Santa Clara, CA.
