Robust PCI Express data traffic capture and intuitive display and expert analysis of the data are all promised to users of PETracer, reportedly the communications industry's first PCI Express analyzer. The system is designed to non-intrusively monitor a single 2.5-Gbps dual simplex PCI Express link, to trigger on specific events, and to present the recorded traffic using intuitive trace software. PETracer is said to easily capture and decode PCI Express Transaction Layer Packets (TLPs), Data Link Layer Packets (DLLPs), and low-level link traffic, including Training Sequences and Skip Ordered-sets. With PETracer, designers reportedly can quickly identify PCI Express protocol violations and reduce debugging times. The analyzer fits into the company's Universal Protocol Analysis System 2500H.
