Reportedly the industry's first audio analyzer with eight simultaneous channels of analog I/O, the APx585 performs automated test sequences and delivers integrated reports, making the instrument quite user friendly. Operating via PC control, the instrument features a user-interface that allows non-seasoned users to take measurements almost immediately and automate test sequences with no programming. The instrument employs a patent-pending sweep method called continuous sweep that can make multiple measurements simultaneously. A typical 1s sweep with 10s of processing time can result in up to 14 measurements of characteristics such as frequency response, THD, crosstalk, group delay and more. A measurement selector displays thumbnails of all measurements, which users can display full screen. Other tools include real-time input monitors, general purpose FFT analyzer, and Dolby and DTS projects. Available now, price is $21,000. The Dolby and DTS projects will ship as a free upgrade by the end of the year. AUDIO PRECISION INC., Beaverton, OR. (800) 231-7350.
