The CDS7000 Series of passive and active color LCD panels features a fast, 16-bit DSP graphics engine that allows designers to use simple, microcontroller interfaces to reduce flat panel integration costs. The panels allow users to issue high-level commands for graphics and text through RS-232 serial, Centronics parallel or direct microprocessor interfaces.
The new line of color LCDs presently includes four models: CDS-7057 is a 5.7" passive color, 320 x 240 resolution panel display with 170 cd/m2 brightness and costing $425; CDS-7064 is a 6.4" active color, 640 x 480 resolution unit with 150 cd/m2 brightness and costing $590; CDS-7104 is a 10.4" active color, 640 x 480 resolution panel with 200 cd/m2 brightness and priced at $650; and CDS-7121 is a 12.1" active color, 800 x 600 resolution panel with 300 cd/m2 brightness and costing $750.
