  • Insilco Technologies Inc. has acquired Texas-based Rockwall Precision Cable Manufacturing Co., a provider of insulated wire and cable assemblies and wire harnesses servicing a wide array of automotive, telecom, and medical applications. This move will expand Insilco's reach into the automotive and telecom industries.

  • Luxell Technologies Inc. and Image Processing Systems Inc. have partnered to develop a patented electronic management system that will be used for yield management and quality assurance in the manufacture of Luxell's solid-state flat-panel displays.

  • SeeItWork.com, a producer of streaming media content and other media solutions, will provide NexTag with fully integrated, end-to-end streaming media services. NexTag, an e-commerce company, specializes in building highly customized marketplaces. The joint venture hopes to provide customers with a true broadband commerce experience.

  • Aceva Technologies, an e-finance infrastructure provider, has partnered with CommerceQuest, a business-integration company. Under this agreement, Aceva will integrate its eFinance platform and services into the CommerceQuest enableNet Business Park. This deal will provide enableNet customers with direct access to Aceva's eFinance platform and services.

  • Alchemedia Technologies Inc., a supplier of content-protection and content-to-commerce solutions on the Web, has partnered with Corbis Corp., a provider of photography and fine art images on the Internet. Corbis will function as a primary beta test site for the next generation of Alchemedia's Clever Content technology. le

  • Incal Technology's Manipulators International (MI) division has announced a worldwide distributorship agreement with Westinghouse Barras Provence of Manosque, France. With it, Incal will sell and service Westinghouse's line of high pin-count, heavy-duty manipulators in the United States.

  • Applied Micro Circuits Corp., a high-bandwidth optical networks provider, has merged with MMC Networks Inc., a supplier of network processors, traffic management, and switch-fabric technology. MMC Networks has also worked with MontaVista Software Inc. to support MontaVista's Hard Hat Linux with MMC Networks' network processing platforms, including its network processors and traffic management engines.

  • Hewlett-Packard (HP) Co. is licensing Bluetooth and IrDA software development kits from Extended Systems, a provider of mobile data management and wireless connectivity solutions. The kits are software independent, so HP can use them on a variety of platforms.

  • LinkUp Systems Corp., a provider of processor-plus peripherals solutions for the Internet appliance and consumer electronics market, and Tao Group, a maker of Java Virtual Machine (JVM) technology, have announced a joint venture. LinkUp's ARM-based L7200 processor will support Tao Group's Elate JVM and the intent multimedia, deterministic operating system.

This will improve development support for Fujitsu's F2MC and FR MCU customers.
