Digital Assistant Claims New Product Category

Claiming to be in a class of its own, the DataMyte 4000 industrial digital assistant combines the features of a personal digital assistant and a pen-tablet PC in an industrially hardened design. This handheld computing device mates a Hitachi SH-4 processor with the Windows CE OS. Data entry is via CalliGrapher, a natural handwriting recognition technology from ParaGraph. Future enhancements will include voice technology, headset capability, and a wearable display. Other features include a 7.7" resistive touch screen, 16 MB of flash ROM, up to 64 MB of SDRAM, a barcode wand port, USB port, VGA port and three serial ports. Two PC Card slots are also provided.
