The Cougar3DM single-chip display controller brings 16 Mbytes of 128-bit memory to portable graphics systems. The integration of 16 Mbytes of memory with a 128-bit 3D graphics engine and a 128-bit memory interface elevates the visual performance in high-end mobile computing devices to levels previously achieved only on desktop models. The Cougar3DM includes hardware-based DVD acceleration, dual memory controllers, and a Macrovision TV encoder to provide a complete multimedia display controller solution in a single footprint. The device provides all of the functions required for hardware-accelerated MPEG2/DVD playback and multi-display operation.
