Displaying multiple messages on a single, standalone unit or on a networked communication system using a PLC, Edwards Message Centers are LED-lamped communications devices that can be connected directly to a PLC’s RS-232 or DH-485 jack. With PLC connectivity, the messages are automatically activated by pre-defined events or conditions, and can be displayed anywhere in a facility. Messages can be used to alert, warn or communicate information such as production goals, time and temperature, employee notification, or safety conditions. The message centers integrate with any PLC that can transmit an ASCII string. Messages can be created or controlled with a wireless remote programmer included with the unit. Centers can display up to 200 characters and store up to 81 messages, operating with up to five speed settings with 26 operating modes.
