Economically priced, the PDS5022S two-channel, handheld/benchtop oscilloscope features a 25-MHz bandwidth and a 7.8", 640 x 480 color LCD. A worthy tool for engineers and students, the instrument is both small and light enough to carry anywhere. It specifies a buffer size of 6 ksamples with a sampling range from 10 samples/s to 100 Msamples/s with synchronous 8-bit sampling on both channels. Sensitivity range is 5 mV/div to 5V/div with a maximum voltage display of ±50V. The scope automatically displays frequency and peak-peak/RMS/mean values; however, cursors can also be moved to make individual readings. Other features include a USB port, self-calibration, video monitoring, the ability to store four waveforms for comparison with live inputs, a persistence control that simulates older analog scopes, and A+B and A-B math capabilities. The scope comes with two x1/x10 passive probes with 4' leads, CD manual, software, and USB cable. Price is $399. SAELIG CO., Pittsford, NY. (585) 385-1750.
