Allowing audio/video installers to use economical CAT5e or CAT6 cables for delivering HDMI content, the company's HDMI-to-CAT5 converter system consists of a power supply, transmitter, and receiver within a single-gang, Decora-style wall plate. At the source end, the transmitter transcodes HDMI signals over two CAT5/6 cables. A 1080p signal will travel up to 125' on a pair of CAT5e cables or a maximum of 200' on a pair of CAT6 cables. At the display end, the receiver transcodes signals back to HDMI. Additionally, the converter employs CURxE light technology to automatically correct signals for any corrupted EDID or HDCP data resulting from capacitive loading problems. The technology also verifies Hot Plug Detect, 5V, EDID, and HDCP compliance. For more information, call HONEYWELL INTERNATIONAL INC., Morristown, NJ. (800) 222-0060.
