An integral ball lens is said to greatly simplify the task of optically aligning the G6854-01 InGaAs photodiode, making it a strong candidate for fiber-optic communication systems. The photodiode has high coupling efficiency and a CD package that allows simple positioning. It can be welded with a YAG laser.Spectral response is 0.9 µm to 1.7 µm with peak wavelength detection of 1.55 µm. Photosensitivity at 1.3 µm is 0.85 A/W; at 1.5 µm, it's 0.95 A/W. Dark current is typically 80 pA. The device's cutoff frequency is 2 GHz. It requires reverse voltage of 20 vdc.
