Available now in production volume, the LDS191 262K-color STN driver IC with integrated controller supports resolutions of 132 (RGB) x 162 and 128 (RGB) x 160. The device combines frame-rate and pulse-width modulation control with a multiple line addressing architecture, an approach said to produce vivid color and high-contrast images at low power levels. Other integrated features include display RAM, an oscillator, and temperature compensation for adjustment of VCLD and frame frequency. Additionally, the device provides programmable display functions such as an area scrolling and partial display mode, block inversion, and color-depth selection.
