LeCroy Breaks DSO Mold With Big Display And Small Footprint

The WaveRunner Xi Series digital-storage oscilloscopes (DSOs) eliminate the tradeoffs between performance, display size, and benchtop footprint. Sporting bright, 10.4” displays, the scopes measure just 6” deep, making them one-third to half the size of comparable units in their class. Available in 600- and 400-MHz bandwidths, the DSOs provide sample rates up to 10 Gsamples/s (interleaved) and come standard with 2 Mpoints of memory per channel with an option for up to 24 Mpoints. A mixed-signal option (MS-32) allows users to add 32 digital channels, each with 1 Mpoints of memory per channel (32 Mpoints total) to a four-channel scope. The 600-MHz DSO is available with two or four channels, while the 400-MHz unit comes with four channels only. Shared features include the company's WaveStream Fast Viewing Mode that operates at speeds to 10 Gsamples/s with an update rate of 8,000 waveforms per second and provides brightness-graded intensities with a decay time similar to phosphor on an analog screen. Prices range from $8,500 to $11,500. LECROY CORP., Chestnut Ridge, NY. (800) 453-2769
