Assuming position as the brightest color LED in its class, the TOPLED Plus emits 15% more light for direct display backlighting than standard TOPLEDs. Depending on the display, the LEDs in standard combinations of red (623 nm), green (527 nm), and blue (457 nm) cover more than 125% of the NTSC color gamut and are suitable for all directly backlit displays, particularly large LCDs in sizes of 24-in. diagonal and up. Higher brightness is the result of a unique lens designed specifically for backlighting. At an operating current of 100 mA, the LEDs achieve brightness levels of 14 lm (red), 24 lm (green), and 28 mW/sr (blue). Also, the lens provides a wider viewing angle to ensure uniform backlighting. Other features include a lifetime of more than 50,000 hours and an overall height of a 2.25 mm. For more details, call OSRAM OPTO SEMICONDUCTORS, San Jose, CA. (888) 446-7726.
