Low-Noise Step-Up Converter Delivers 600 mW The MAX15032 is a constant-frequency, pulse-width modulated (PWM), low-noise step-up converter designed for low-voltage systems that require a locally generated high-voltage output. The device integrates a high-voltage DMOS power switch, allowing it to boost the output up to 36 V and deliver up to 600 mW of power. Additionally, the converter employs an internal charge-pump circuit to enable low-voltage operation from 2.7 V to 11 V. The MAX15032 is well-suited for applications such as avalanche-photodiode, PIN-diode, and varactor-diode biasing. It also works well in set-top box audio IC supplies and LCD displays. The device’s current-mode PWM architecture switches at a constant 500-kHz frequency to ease filtering requirements. A shutdown input ensures low power consumption. The converter comes in a 3- by 3-mm, 8-pin TDFN package and is fully specified over the ?40°C to 125°C automotive temperature range. Prices start at $1.05 for quantities of 1,000.
