Meter Can Assume Many Instrumentation Personalities

May 1, 1999

For OEMs wanting to introduce computer-like functions into handheld test and measurement applications, OmniMeter field-programmable instrument lets custom application software be stored on SRAM or flash PC cards, enabling the unit to assume multiple instrumentation personalities. By using firm's CAD tools for software development, typical designs take weeks instead of months. Battery-powered OmniMeter has two PC card slots, a backlit high-contrast QVGA graphic display, two serial ports, a real-time clock, a high-speed RISC processor, power management, and modular data acquisition circuits.
