A new 5 mm panel light pipe has been designed with a dual-lens geometry to improve lighting intensity for use with surface-mounted or through-hole LEDs. Using the PLP 5’s brighter, evenly lighted indicators, users can immediately locate PCBs directly behind panels. The diffused dome lens achieves even, full-intensity light without degradation of the original light source. The tight-fitting design protects against RFI and EMI noise leaks. The PLP 5 can be press-fit by hand from the front of the display panel and fits into a hole measuring 0.22". No additional hardware or special tools are required for installation. For enhanced design versatility, the PLP 5 comes in lengths from 0.125" to 1.5" in increments of 0.125". Industry-standard colors include red, green, yellow, blue and clear. Custom lengths and colors can be ordered. Pricing starts at $0.15 each. BIVAR INC., Irvine, CA. (800) 772-2377.
