Claims of excellent daylight readability, as well as high brightness, contrast and resolution, are expected to garner for the T-51440 Series of 7.0-inch-diagonal TFT LCDs a host of design wins in automotive TVs and GPS navigation systems, as well as in portable DVDs and other audio/visual and multimedia products. The modules offer 480 x 240 pixels in a wide, 16:9 format and employ an anti-glare, low-reflection surface treatment to achieve brightness levels of 400 nits. They also can display 264,144 colors, offer a 150:1 contrast ratio, operate over a wide, -30°C to 85°C temperature range, and integrate both a NTSC/PAL decoder and an inverter with dimming circuit to provide a 100:1 dimming ratio. In sample quantities, the 7.0" LCD modules cost $282 each. For more information, call Holly Konrad at OPTREX AMERICA INC., Plymouth, MI. (734) 416-8500.
