For use in flat-panel displays and automotive applications, the CLIK-Mate surface-mount connector sports a 2-mm pitch and features a positive locking mechanism that provides an audible click, ensuring reliable mating. With a 3A rating, the connector is viable for use in both signal and power applications. The single-row connector includes dual positive inner-locks from eight to 14 circuits and a wide single lock on four- and six-circuit versions. Its inner-lock design prevents wires from tangling in the latch. Preventing erroneous insertion, the connector includes a U-shape terminal that only fits the housing one way. The system features a dual-contact tuning fork-style terminal that provides secure electrical contact and avoids terminal stubbing and damage that can occur with pin header designs. Terminals include tin plating and support 22 to 26 AWG wire sizes. The 2-mm CLIK-Mate connector is the first release in a family that will include other pitch sizes. MOLEX INC., Lisle, IL.
