Sophia Mobile selected Raza Microelectronics' Alchemy Au1250 Processor for its first full-featured PMP mobile phone with touch screen display. The Alchemy Au1250 is a high-performance, low-power processor that gives system designers an easy-to-use, simple solution to create full-featured portable solutions with reduced design cycle times. And the System-on-a-Chip (SoC) architecture integrates with numerous peripheral components on the market. The Sophia Nani, unveiled at the Wireless Japan 2007 event in July, is a full-featured PMP phone that integrates multimedia capabilities like Wi-Fi, camera, TV tuner, and Video. Powered by Microsoft Windows CE 5.0, the Nani features a 4.3-inch touch screen display with resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, dual cameras, and a fully integrated digital TV tuner as well as a GPS navigation system. "The Alchemy Au1250 Processor provides the performance, power optimization and levels of integration necessary for us to deliver innovative technologies to PMP phone markets," Kosuke Shibayama, chief executive officer of Sophia Mobile, said in a statement.
