Said to be a first, the FSU67 spectrum analyzer is capable of swooping 20 Hz to 67 GHz in a single, full-span sweep with one coaxial input and without the need for external harmonic mixers. The analyzer integrates an instrument-controlled RF attenuator with a range of 0 dB to 75 dB in 5-dB steps that eliminates the external, manual attenuator required for harmonic mixers. It specifies a reference level range from -130 dBm to +30 dBm, reportedly much higher than levels attainable with harmonic mixers. Other specifications include a noise floor of -158 dBm at 1 GHz and -130 dBm at 65 GHz, resolution bandwidth of 1 Hz to 50 MHz, display linearity of less than 0.1 dB, total measurement uncertainty of less than 0.3 dB, and a frequency resolution of 0.01 Hz. Phase noise at 640 MHz ranges from -104 dBc at a 100-Hz offset to -160 dBc at a 10-MHz offset.
