Designed with a new transparent chip substrate material, the Ultra-Bright AlInGaP TS LED Series is said to deliver 30% brighter illumination over conventional LEDs, offering a low-cost display solution for instruments and outdoor displays that must function in ambient lighting conditions. The new substrate also enhances brightness through higher reflective capability, which results in an intensity of 3000 mcd over standard LEDs with 2000 mcd characteristics. The new series is available in Red and Amber. The Ultra-Bright LEDs can be mounted in surface mount (SMT) or through-hole configurations and are available in all industry standard packages including 3 mm (T-1), and 5 mm (T-1 3/4). Surface mount models include PLCC, 1206, 1204, 0805, 0603, and 1210 industry-standard chip packages. Available from stock or within four to five weeks, the LEDs are priced from under $.30 each in large quantities. AMERICAN BRIGHT OPTOELECTRONICS CORP., Chino, CA. (888) 533-0800.
