Video Capture PMC Descends On Entry-Level Market

Taking a bow as a low-cost, entry-level video capture and graphics card, the Garnet/PMC PCI mezzanine card (PMC) is designed for use in VME and CompactPCI systems. The card is available in Class 2 and 3 configurations, and all I/O is handled via its 64-pin PMC Pn4 rear panel connector. It integrates a Silicon Motion 128-bit SM731 graphics accelerator that supports single displays at screen resolutions up to 1,600 x 1,200 (UXGA) with 16.7 million colors at vertical scan rates to 91 Hz. Other features include support for dual independent displays—dual VGA, dual LVDS, or VGA + DVI—at resolutions of 1,024 x 768 x 24 bpp. Additionally, the card includes 16 MB of SDRAM for image and off-screen data storage.
