The TouchLite TL2100 is a battery-powered Windows CE computer that can be used as a "drop-in" solution for industrial and commercial applications like factory-floor automation, commercial and agricultural in-vehicle use, process control, route management, and field-service communications and data collection. Its impact-modified, thermoplastic housing features silicon rubber handgrips, and it can withstand a 4-ft. drop onto concrete. With power management, an NiMH battery can provide eight hours of continuous operation. Three different display options are available for different light conditions and cost requirements.

Two serial ports are included. One of these ports is user-configurable for both RS-232 and RS-422, or RS-232 and RS-485 and two PCMCIA slots (Version I and II, Type I, II, and III). These accommodate virtually any type of PCMCIA card currently available. Meanwhile, an IrDA interface with front- and rear-facing transceivers and a multiport adapter with an Ethernet (10Base-T) connection provide wireless network and Internet capability. Available now, pricing ranges from $1095 to $2395 in OEM quantities.
