Analog CMOS Switches Flatten On Resistance

Oct. 8, 2008
Exhibiting a typical on-resistance flatness of 0.2 Ohms while operating from a 44V supply, the DG451 and DG454 series SPST, analog CMOS switches specify a typical on resistance of 4 Ohms, parameters said to be ideal for low-distortion audio switching.

A reported advantage, the DG454 series offers the benefit of not requiring a logic voltage pin. The advantages of this feature include no requirement for a 5V power supply, PCB trace connecting the logic pin, and no need for power-supply sequencing. The DG451 and DG454 are normally closed devices, while the DG452 and DG455 are normally open. The DG453 and DG456 each have two normally closed and two normally open switches. Each series is fully specified with dual supplies at ±5V and ±15 V, and a single supply of 12V. They feature switching speeds of 80 ns for turn on and 60 ns for turn off, and offer a ±15V analog signal range. Power dissipation for the DG451 family is a low 15 mW. Available in a choice of RoHS-compliant TSSOP16 or SOIC-16 packages, pricing is $1.95 each/1,000. VISHAY INTERTECHNOLOGY INC., Malvern, PA. (408) 567-8347.
