Handling multiple input signals to increase processing speed in multi-function automotive audio designs, the ADAU1442, ADAU1445, and ADAU1446 SigmaDSP audio processors incorporate a Flexible Audio Routing Matrix (FARM) that allows users to increase processing speed and reduce the complexity of audio signal routing and clocking issues associated with asynchronous audio sources. Reportedly, the FARM solution can quickly compensate for the limitations of speakers, amplifiers, and listening environments. The processors include up to eight stereo asynchronous sample rate converters, an S/PDIF transceiver, and serial inputs/outputs that support inter-IC sound and TDM formats. All inputs are routable to the SigmaDSP core or any of the outputs. The SigmaDSP core features 28-bit processing (56-bit in double precision mode), synchronous parameter loading for filter stability, and 100% code efficiency when using the SigmaStudio graphical development environment, which includes audio processing blocks such as FIR and IIR filters, dynamics processors, mixers, low-level DSP functions, and third-party algorithms. Available in 100-lead QFPs, prices for the ADAU1442, ADAU1445, and ADAU1446 are $9.96, $9.31, and $8.28 each/1,000, respectively. ANALOG DEVICES, INC., Norwood, MA. (800) 426-2564.
