Blackfin DSPs Raise Power Efficiency And Security Bars

Optimized for portable applications, the latest family of Blackfin processors builds on the Dynamic Power Management capabilities of their predecessors to achieve the line's best power efficiency to date. Additionally, the ADSP-BF52x family incorporates Blackfin Lockbox Secure Technology to support the next generation of security for uses that range from safeguarding intellectual property to protected e-commerce and social networking. The devices exhibit a core power dissipation as low as 0.16 mW at 250 MHz. Integrated peripherals include USB On-The-Go, 10/100 Ethernet, host DMA port, NAND flash controller, up to 48 general-purpose I/O ports, and others. Additionally, the ADSP-BF527C, BF525C, and BF522C versions feature an embedded, low-power stereo audio codec. The family ranges from the 300-MHz version of the ADSP-BF522L to the 600-MHz ADSP-BF527.
