Designed to reduce costs and space while increasing the efficiency of inverters found in solar, UPS, and motor-drive applications, the CID150660 co-pack power switch integrates a 6A/600V Schottky diode and a 15A silicon, insulated-gate bipolar transistor from International Rectifier. The switch comes in an industry-standard TO-220-3 package. According to the company, the co-pack provides inverter designers with the potential to achieve new levels of efficiency at power levels up to 3 kW. It also promises to reduce IGBT switching losses up to 50% and reduce overall inverter losses up to 25%. For further details and price, call CREE INC., Durham, NC. (919) 313-5300.
