Designed for Motorola's StarCore-based MSC8102 digital signal processor (DSP), the MULTI 2000 integrated development environment (IDE) and high-speed probe includes C and C++ optimizing compilers, a multi-core debugger, and provides a DSP-optimized superset of its editing, debugging, profiling, and project management capabilities. The IDE automates all aspects of software development for the processor and features a window-oriented editor, RTOS-aware feature, multi-core source-level debugger, graphical program builder, run-time error checker, version-control system, and a performance profiler. It also supports the StarCore instruction set simulator and multi-core, cycle-accurate simulator, which allows users to develop and test the code on a PC or workstation without the target hardware. The debugger supports incremental debugging, mixed assembly and high-level language formats and includes a language-sensitive expression evaluator. It also provides a separate window for each SC140 core and process. The RTOS-aware feature allows users to debug and tune processor applications running under popular operating systems. Paired with the IDE, the hardware-debug probe supports simultaneous multi-core debug with download rates of greater than 400 KB/s. Pricing for Windows and Linux versions starts at $5,900 and for Solaris and HP-UX hosts, $9,900. GREEN HILLS SOFTWARE INC., Santa Barbara, CA. (805) 965-6044.
