Taking aim at a wide range of portable consumer electronics, the TMS320DM270 (DM270) digital media processor integrates a TMS320C54x DSP, an ARM7TDMI RISC processor, and video and imaging coprocessors. The chip's system-on-a-chip (SoC) design supports Nucleus, Linux, ulTRON, and VxWorks and is upwardly code compatible with the company's DSC2x platform. Software support is available for all current video compression standards, including JPEG, motion-JPEG, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, H.263, H.264, DivX, and Windows Media Video (WMV). Audio support includes MP3, Advanced Audio Coding (AAC), and Windows Media Audio (WMA). Supported voice standards include G.711, G.723.1, and G.726. Additional support for the DM270 includes evaluation models, samples, online software module libraries, and technical training.
