D/S Converters Have Internal Isolated Outputs

April 1, 2000

This new series of digital-to-synchro (D/S) converter modules is designed to accept a 14-bit natural binary angle (CMOS/TTL compatible) signal and convert it into a 3-wire synchro signal. The 14-bit reference powered 4.5 VA D/S converters measure only 2.6" x 3.1" x 0. 5" high, require a 5 vdc power supply, and have internal transformer-isolated outputs, even at 60 Hz.
In addition, the module's output is short-circuit proof and current limited with transient protection and a thermal cutoff. The 400-Hz units have a 4.5 VA load capability and the 60 Hz units, 2 VA. Furthermore, the converters are encapsulated in thermally conductive material, as well as having a metal top plate.
The DSPL60 D/S converter requires a 115V, 60 Hz reference input and 5 vdc at 20 mA. And it comes in two operating temperature ranges: 0°C to 70°C and -55°C to 90°C. In production quantities, the devices are priced at less than $595 each. Delivery is stock to four weeks.
