With the goal of making high-end Dolby technology accessible to more consumer and automotive applications, the DSPD56374 digital-signal processor features Dolby Digital, Dolby Virtual Speaker, and Dolby Headphone functionality. The DSP also supports Freescale's audio software architecture, a plug-and-play operating system for decoder and post-processing tasks. Chip features include 150 MIPS performance at a clock frequency of 150 MHz, 18K x 24 RAM, 28K x 24 ROM, a 24-bit MAC with a 56-bit accumulator, 6-channel DMA controller, and a JTAG port.
