The SH7776 (SH-Navi3), a dual-core system-on-chip (SoC), integrates enhanced on-chip graphics functions and an image-recognition processing function for next-generation car information terminals. The device hosts two SH-4A 32-bit CPU cores on a single chip and achieves a processing performance of 1,920 MIPS while operating at 533 MHz. The SoC’s 3D graphics engine incorporates PowerVR SGX, a 3D graphics IP from Imagination Technologies. It provides support for 3D rendering in navigation applications as well as multimedia applications such as HMI. The chip also packs a 2D and 3D graphics processor that supports 2D rendering functions such as bold-line rendering plus 3D rendering functions such as triangle 3D rendering. In addition, a distortion compensation module enables transformations into any shape of image data captured by a camera. Other features include a two-channel, 16-bit bus interface operating at 533 MHz, PCI Express interface, serial ATA interface, sound interfaces including an audio encoder, a USB 2.0 host/function interface, TS interface for receiving terrestrial digital TV broadcasts, and a GPS baseband processing module.
