Groomed for the TMS320C6455 DSP, the C6455 evaluation module (EVM) and the C6455 design starter kit (DSK) provide a complete modular development platform including both hardware and software. Said to be a first, both tools include a Serial RapidIO (sRIO) bus interface. The C6455 EVM allows sRIO development by providing an AdvancedTCA AMC interface that connects to a second C6455 DSP on an AMC form factor daughter card, providing a platform for high-end multiprocessor development. Inter-processor communication takes place through the 10 Gb/s, 4-lane sRIO bus via the AMC connector, which also supports third-party sRIO expansion cards. Other features include UTOPIA and Gigabit Ethernet MAC interfaces and DDR2 memory. Pricing is $495 each for the DSK and $1,795 for the EVM. TEXAS INSTRUMENTS INC., Dallas, TX. (800) 477-8924.
