Low latencies (22-ns row access, 10-ns column access, 4.3-ns clock access) and a high burst rate (166 MHz) are characteristics of a series of Jedec Superset enhanced synchronous DRAMs that is now sampling. During sample evaluation, the PC-100-compliant memories are reportedly reaching 200-MHz burst speeds over the full temperature range.In addition, ESDRAMs' support of processors and chipsets used in communications, DSP and embedded computer applications is growing. There's support for Motorola's MPC860 PowerQUICC communication processors, V3 Corp.'s V320USC PCI bridge for MIPS processors, and ADI's SHARC AD-21065L DSP.
