Available in word widths of x18, x32 and x36, a family of 12 high-speed synchronous SRAMs is targeted at network and DSP applications. Included are flow-through and pipelined versions in both 2-Mbit and 4-Mbit densities. Pipelined versions offer speeds of up to 166 MHz and flow-through options will run to speeds of 117 MHz.All of the new memories are fabricated on 0.35-µm or 0.25-µm processes with the company's six-transistor cell architecture. Unlike SRAMs built using traditional four-transistor, two-resistor designs, these SRAMs exhibit no susceptibility to alpha particles that can corrupt the value of data stored in memory. This trait is especially important in networking applications, in which large amounts of data are funneled through the memories. The 12 new memories will be introduced through the fourth quarter.
