Adding advanced capabilities, the Magellan programmable motion processor now supports multiple motor types in single and multi-axis applications, thereby reducing design time. The device supports all standard motor types including DC brush and brushless, step motors, and pulse and direction motors. In terms of support, a comprehensive software development kit is available that includes profile generation, servo loop closure, PLC-style signal manipulation, and motor signal generation. Other features include programmable PID filters with velocity and acceleration feed forward, 32-bit position error, and a 50 µs loop time.
