For the purposes of saving development time for enterprise IP phone OEMs, Texas Instruments has integrated the company's Nucleus Plus kernel into its TMS320 DSP-based IP phone processor. The device also integrates a TMS320C54x, an ARM 7 RISC CPU, analog wideband codecs, Ethernet switch, and VOIP-enabling Telogy software. Features of the Nucleus Plus kernel include optimizations in the system clock, interrupt and compiler register usage, as well as handling priority inversion, and minimization of interrupt latency. The kernal is sold with source code and without royalty fees. Licenses for the kernel start at $12,495.
