Whether in chip form or as a block of intellectual property, the RHDDSP24 radiation-hardened DSP can perform 1024-point complex fast Fourier transforms (FFTs) in about 34.7 µs and complex 16- by 16-bit matrix multiplications in 55 µs. The device has a scalable architecture, and five complex bidirectional data ports provide highly flexible data routing. The DSP, which runs at clock speeds of 75 MHz when powered by a 3.3-V supply, comes in a 472-pin column-grid-array package. It's fabricated in a 0.35-µm, silicon-on-insulator CMOS process. Commercial versions of the RHDDSP24 are available for prototyping and are priced at $500 to $1500, depending on quantity, performance, and temperature range.
